I'm a new App Inventor user and i find it hard to build good looking Apps at this moment. Due to the fixed positioning of elements it's difficult for me and also time consuming when trying to 'draw' the screens. I've tried with Canvas and various Arrangements tricks but i have different visualizations between screen and phone and also changes in layout happens when using different devices too. Are there any plans of implementing custom positioning of objects in the future? That would help so much...

and: you always can use a professional development environment like Eclipse or Android Studio...
and probably one day we also get better layout possibilities...

I know there are professional tools and i wasn't arguing about how App Inventor is right now. It was just a question because it could be very complete for a non programmer or for a newbie just by adding this setting. Very good tool anyway :D
