sharing component problem

Hi   When trying to share a file I get the following message

Permission Denial: starting Intent { act=android.intent.action.SEND flg=0x1 cmp=com.viber.voip/.messages.ui.forward.ForwardActivity (has clip) (has extras) } from ProcessRecord{43ec2e78 2194:edu.mit.appinventor.aicompanion3/u0a168} (pid=2194, uid=10168) not exported from uid 10175
Note: You will not see another error reported for 5 seconds.

The file has a non-standard extension (.LIN)  when using a TXT  extension there is no problem

It would really help if you provided a screenshot of your relevant blocks, so we can see what you are trying to do, and where the problem may be.

Hi  this is a simple test app  see attached block jpg file  ,  now I don't get an error message but nothing happens   unless I change the file to one with a txt extension (then gmail accepts) . It seems that  a file with a lin /  extension cannot be exported. lin files are actually text files  accepted by contract bridge apps of which I have some on my smartphone

in your case the extension lin seems to be associated with the Viber app...
I just tried it and get the following error message

it seems to be not possible to send lin files using the Sharing component
