Improve text rendering on tablets

I programmed a nice app with a Quiz. On a phone that looks fine, but on my 10´ Samsung tablet the text rendering looks ugly. No sharp edges. Is there a solution?

Without seeing an screen capture from both the phone and the tablet Markus, we do not really know.  You might try changing the font size and type (there are three types you can use) for use on the Tablet and perhaps this tutorial will help:  Universal screen size by Sajal

Presently App Inventor 2  uses the Android API3.   To get the best quality on tablets, Android API4 is required.  MIT is currently trying to conclude a project that will upgrade AI2 to the API 4 standards and that might solve the issue you describe.  When will this be done (the upgrade)?   No time line, hopefully early next year or sooner, there is a team testing API 4; there are still bugs.  The new version will not be released until the MIT Technical team is satisfied that the upgrade will be mostly bug free.  This is a huge upgraded required to allow AI2 to work better with different size screens and eventually add additional features to AI2.

Try some blocks, using the tutorial as a guide; changing the font and the font size.   Does any of this help?

Markus replied by email:

Dear Steve, thank you for the reply and the great work with AI. I love working with it!
I changed the font typeface to monospace now, this made things a little better but changed the layout.
Enclosed you see a screenshot.

thanks from Germany
Markus
