AI2 and subscription without long polling

Exploring making a home automation dashboard, saw the PubNub example which uses long polling.
Is it possible to get push messages from mosquitto.org (and others such as dweet.io)  and update button text with specific strings ?

I understand push messages are not possible with App Inventor.    You will need to use Eclipse or Android Studio if you want a free JAVA based Android compiler or a commercial compiler to do this.

I just looked at dweet.io and it looks simple to use and yes, you could use it also with App Inventor, for alerts these will be sent by email to your email address and in your app, you could create or read dweets easily using the web component.
