emulator does not open web page

I am going to implement simple application like once button click it open web page. Address of web page mention in webviewer1.homeurl towww.gmail.com. when application run emulator show error web page not available. anyone just tell why this happen?

Preface your Web page url  with http://  or https://   in front of the www...

make sure, internet access is available in your emulator

you also can test this with a browser in your emulator
