What size(pixels) should my launcher icon be?

I need to know what size my app icon should be on a device's screen. can anybody help??? :/



I did many, but 96x96 works... you can also do 512 x 512 as Google Play will require that for posting anyway.

Can it be 512x512 for BOTH playstore and screen? or does it have to be 96x96, for screen, and 512*512, for playstore?
