emulator64-arm quit unexpectedly

The Android emulator fails to launch after the required update is downloaded and installed. Before the update, the emulator launched, got to the connection stage and then alerted that it needed to be updated.

After the update, I get an error every time I attempt to launch the emulator.
"emulator64-arm quit unexpectedly"
"Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."

Reopening just spawns the error again.

Things I tried:
  1. Unplugged all items from the machine.
  2. Deleted and reinstalled the app inventor software to hopefully update the emulator and it's required paths.
  3. Logged out and tried again.
  4. Rebooted the machine.
  5. Shut down and restarted.
All had the same error.

The error report is attached, as it's a long file.

Reading some forums for this kind of emulator error, I tried launching the emulator from the command line.

Still no luck:
emulator: ERROR: Could not load OpenGLES emulation library: dlopen(lib64OpenglRender.dylib, 1): image not found
emulator: WARNING: Could not initialize OpenglES emulation, using software renderer.
Any ideas what's happening here?
