1) Did you load MIT Companion from Google Play and install on your Android device?
2) Did you install the USB developer drivers on your PC?     That is described here:  Help with USB connection on Windows
3) In your Devices's Settings, did you check the box that allows USB Developer mode?

Try this stuff, make sure you followed all the installation instructions exactly and let us know if you got USB working.  Sorry, getting USB communication working is the most difficult part of using AI2.   WIFI is easy, the emulator a bit more difficult.

Come back and tell us you are smiling (if you can).

I'm having the same problem and it is so frustrating.  I do have developer mode enabled (I'm using a Samsung 4) and the cable is plugged in because I can transfer or look at the phones files while it's plugged in.

@Pedro ... if you can look at phone files, you selected the wrong option when setting up your USB....you are using your phone as a media device.  That is not the proper selection of options.

Sorry, comments like 'so frustrating' do not get us anywhere; you need to tell us that you followed each step, whether you performed the test etc in order to get some help.    Please understand, we can not see your screens or continue to make guesses about what you may have tried.

Can you connect with WIFI or use the emulator?  We realize some can not use WIFI, however, everyone should be able to use the emulator; if it is properly set it up.  It also helps if you  let us know whether you are using a PC or Mac or Linux as some procedures are different with them.

We sympathize with you issues.  Be aware, the vast majority of issues with users opting for the USB live development is because 1) the user did not follow all directions exactly, 2) the user did not install Companion on their phone/tablet, the user did not download the drivers required on their PC.

The USB installation directions are complicated, because installing IS COMPLICATED.      ... how about trying again to provide some information about your system (every one has different stuff), what you did so far and CONFIRM you downloaded the drivers and loaded Companion and did the aiStarter test mentioned in the instructions and report the results.

If you still have issues, you might send an email to Josh at MITjsheldon@mit.edu  ...he is responsible for providing accurate, concise and up to date instructions for installs.    If something is unclear, ask him to fix the documentation.  That is his job.

Meanwhile, we are here to help; if you provide a good description of the issue and what you have done so far.

@Raffa .... I just noted, you are trying to run on a 'company network';   there is a large possibility port 8004 is blocked...AI2 uses that port.  Check with your IT department;  a Firewall is probably blocking AI2 activity.  It still could be something else.

Steve, thanks a lot for you support, yes is it...
the real problem is my company network. I've tried at home and everything run perfectly. Honestly I still don't know what I have to do to fix this problem here, but since I'm at at work it's better don't change any configuration... :)
